Amy Hamley is an interdisciplinary artist based in Sonoma, California. Through traditional ceramic and weaving practices, her work explores the compatibility of clay and fiber and the structural challenges of combining the two into mixed media textiles.

Her work investigates the parallels of process and experiments with “the after.” When the ceramic sculptural components are fired and ready for composition, they have become unlikely partners in the same piece with the fiber.

Amy's work has been shown at the de Young Museum in San Fransisco, di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art in Napa, and the AR Mitchell Museum of Western Art in Trinidad, Colorado. It has also been featured in Dwell, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Harper's Bazaar, Country Living, Vogue, Real Simple, Martha Stewart, Refinery 29, Design Sponge, Apartment Therapy, and more.

Amy's work is available through monthly online updates. To receive these updates, process photos, and images of new work, follow along on Instagram and subscribe to her newsletter. She is available for commissions and can be reached at info@amyhamley.com
